Your nurse comes to you, meeting you at home or at a safe place where you are comfortable or by calling you. Visits with your nurse will take place on a regular basis on a schedule you set with your nurse, usually every week or every other week before and after you have your baby. If you have support from family or your partner, they can participate too.
During every visit, your nurse will listen to you, answer your questions, and share valuable knowledge and resources to build your confidence as a mom and help guide you through all the changes you will experience. You and your nurse will work together on the focus for each visit based on your individual needs.
Your NFP nurse will help you plan for a healthy pregnancy, prepare for delivery, and get ready to welcome your new baby in a safe, loving home environment. Your nurse will connect you with health care and social services, and provide you with caring and compassionate advice to support your overall health during pregnancy. Moms-to-be have a lot of questions and your NFP nurse is there with answers you can trust, and the care and support you need to be the best mom you can be.
Your nurse will stay with you as your baby grows and learns and as you become a strong, confident mother. Your nurse is able to stay with you until your baby is 2 years old. Your nurse will listen to your concerns, answer your questions about caring for your baby. Your nurse has expert information and advice on everything from infant feeding and nutrition, to child development and growth, to creating a safe and healthy home environment, and reaching developmental milestones. You can ask your nurse anything – no subject is off limits. As your baby grows, your nurse will work with you on setting a vision for your own goals as you prepare a bright future for yourself and your child.
