- Pennsylvania Breastfeeding Coalition (PABC) provides a variety of resources for breastfeeding resources for parents, caregivers and health care professionals. PABC is comprised of health professionals from hospitals, clinics, state-level public health departments, and universities, concerned parents and citizens, and volunteers from community organizations, each member contributes time, energy, and expertise to activities that support breastfeeding in Pennsylvania. - First Food • A program of the Pennsylvania Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics and funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, First Food aims to support collaborative partnerships throughout Pennsylvania and increase the availability and access to programs that support breastfeeding. - The Happy Mama Place offers a variety of services, including doula support for home or hospital births (now available either in person or via zoom), massage therapy for balance and pain reduction, as well as placenta encapsulation. Click here to learn more.
- Lingua Speech, Swallow & Voice Services is a nurturing group of professionals with high desire to create a nourished community. Nourishment starts upon trying to conceive, which is supported by a registered dietician, guiding families healthy pregnancies. With prenatal coaching and nutrition, Lingua’s team helps families to prepare for baby’s arrival, decrease symptoms of nausea, and fuel the energy needed during pregnancy. Once the baby arrives, Lingua’s multiple CLCs and an IBCLC can help to guide your feeding goals to success whether you are pumping, feeding at breast or simply just curious on which products are best for your child’s development. Lingua offers specialty services including infant massage, pre/post frenectomy therapy, torticollis intervention, and NICU graduate care through speech therapists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists. - Healthy MOMS • This community-based program brings together experts from healthcare, legal, housing, and social services sectors to help moms-to-be and their babies build a strong foundation and begin life in recovery. The Healthy MOMS team members actively support breastfeeding and can provide information about breastfeeding guidelines and safety while taking certain medications, including participation in a Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program.
