U.S. Senator Bob Casey joined MFHS staff, along with representatives from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), at the Circle of Care Scranton office yesterday for a tour and to discuss the $200,000 in ARC funding that MFHS used to purchase equipment for our new dental program. The Senator had the opportunity to meet our staff and see the dental equipment, including a CEREC machine, that allows us to provide same day root canal and permanent crown placements. These same-day services are one more way MFHS is working to remove barriers to accessing quality health care in Northeast PA, as transportation issues can often prevent low-income clients from making multiple appointments to have this kind of dental work completed.
